Press Release Body = Profiles of the World\'s Top 40 Nonwovens Producers: Part 2 -
No.s 11-30, 2005 Edition

Worldwide sales of nonwoven roll goods continued their mid-single digit growth in
2004, reaching nearly US$15 bn. Sales of the 20 medium sized producers profiled in
this report-which rank from number 11 to number 30 among the world's leading
companies-ranged individually from US$93 mn to US$191 mn and together accounted for
almost 19% of the global total. Companies ranking 11-30 include long established as
well as new players. Hollingsworth & Vose has been in the business for more than 160
years but Western Nonwovens, Pegas Nonwovens, Avgol and Concert Industries are
relatively new companies. New to the report this year is Owens Corning, at number
11. Although the company has been in the business of making dry-laid glass nonwovens
since the 1950s, 2004 was the first year in which it was included in the ranking.
The company recently showed its commitment to nonwovens by investing US$25 mn in a
new line in Aiken, South Carolina, USA.

Other recent investments include Fibertex's new spunmelt line in Denmark as well as
improvements to its Czech Republic facilities and a third spunmelt line at Avgol's
North American facility in Mocksville, North Carolina. Meanwhile, Orlandi has put on
hold its plans to construct a spunlace line in North America. There have also been
ownership changes. Georgia-Pacific has been purchased by Koch Industries. Propex
Fabrics, formerly BP Fabric and Fibers, has purchased SI Industries, a competitor,
while British Vita, Pegas Nonwovens and Concert Industries have all been bought up
by private equity funds.
